A Limited Theme For Art & Artifice XL, Ghostly International's January Newsletter
In their first newsletter of the year "ART & ARTIFICE XL, January 2007", the major theme for Ghostly International is: 2007 is the year of being limited (well, at least January). Ghostly International announces a collaboration with New York design boutique MOSS (http://mossonline.com), who have produced a Ghostly USB flash memory drive called M/GM 1, that's pre-loaded with 13 tracks. Dabrye and Matthew Dear pick up nominations for this years PLUG awards (http://www.plugawards.com/general_vote.php), while Ghostly friend and resident DJ Jeffrey Sfire, who has just returned from Berlin where his work was featured in Groove magazine, designed an exclusive line of hand-dyed Ghostly t-shirts (no two are alike...very limited). In related Ghostly apparel news, Bethany Shorb who directed the design of a new line of Ghostly Cyberoptix Ties, took part in a Real Detroit fashion shoot where Ghostly say "her ties are blowing up to say the least". Also announced is a new LP from Skeletons & The Kings of All Cities entitled LUCAS and it's out on their Shinkoyo imprint (first limited pressing of 500 grey vinyl LPs, followed later by CD and digital release). On the Ghostly Digital front you'll find a compilation called "New Faces" featuring exclusive tracks from the recent Ghostly signings Manhunter and JDSY, along with work from WISP, The Reflecting Skin and Benoit Pioulard. In February look out for a new compilation from the Spectral camp called "Death is Nothing To Fear". If you're little communicator is still rocking a factory ringtone, stop by Ghostly's own ringtone store and give it a new voice with tracks from Dabrye, Matthew Dear, Solvent and of course, many others (http://ghostly.com/ringtones). For those who aren't familiar with the Ghostly/Spectral sound, be sure and check out the free tracks available at: http://www.ghostly.com/mp3. New additions include work from Christopher Willits and Skeletons & The Kings of All Cities.
