Ben Tweel, a.k.a. Build Buildings, has twelve atmospheric, dreamlike pieces on his fourth release called "Ceiling Lights From Street". Tweel's bio says he makes music with "computers, instruments, household noises and records." Most of it seems to be with computers, using long, drawn out notes, sometimes backed with beats and sometimes without. His strongest work exists where he manipulates skittering glitches and ambient tones.

The few times he uses household noises or records you'll be faced with one of two reactions: irritation or elation. I got up more than once to see if my cat was scratching or if there was something wrong with my stereo. Outside those sounds and a few over-structured beats, Tweel has produced an altogether appealing album.

Most of the tunes are miniature ambient/drone pieces with all the tracks being between 2:30 and 4:20 minutes long. There is a lot of "space" flavor with the sounds of classic synthesizers, along with some minimalist piano-like keyboard, soft white noise and glitches.

This is not necessarily the kind of album for building buildings, but it's perfect for just drifting and watching the world go by.
