Ben Mitchell taps into the Latin vibe on Catalina Sunset with his Sao Benitez Remix and keeps the rhythm flowing with a broken shuffle and lots of Latin percussion popping up throughout the mix. Ben also unloads some dynamic synth solos tweaked out in stereo and gives the track a loose feeling Latin house vibe that stays fresh and ignores any “house” clichés.

Fort Knox Five brings us the Fort Knox Five Rework of Catalina Sunset and the mix has everything you’ve come to expect from FKF. Funky bass, horn stabs, slinky guitar and lots of swagger. Fort Knox Five are on top form with this version and it propels Catalina Sunset into a dancefloor groove monster. This is prime party flavor and to keep with the Latin vibe, they drop in some Cha Cha vocal snippets to remind us that this track is about sultry weather and warm vibes.

Ed Royal & DJ Enne bring us the Funky Rhythm Remix and the title doesn’t let you down. Besides the fact that they announce it’s a funky rhythm for those fools who didn’t realize they should put their drink down and hit the floor, this track really IS funky. Driven by a way too groovy clavinet and a hip-shaking beat you can’t help but bounce along in guilty delight.
