On All Frequencies
Buy at: iTunes  GEMM

On All Frequencies Subatomic Sound System is a collective of vocalists working with dub mastermind Emch of Dub Champions. "On All Frequencies" takes on dub, underground hip hop, broken-beat and dancehall and packs them into 14 sonic gems. "Ghetto Champion" is what Damien Marley should have been working on.
Track Listing:
  1. On All Frequencies (feat. Daddy Lion Chandell)
  2. Criminal (feat. Naada)
  3. No Static (feat. Nemiss & Dawn)
  4. Ghetto Champion (feat. Treasure Don)
  5. Rize Up (feat. Rhiannon)
  6. Doin’ It (feat. Nemiss & Naada)
  7. Thru The Next Gate (feat. Naada)
  8. Fly Free (feat. Rhiannon)
  9. Our Father, Our King (Middle East Dub)
  10. Breakin' Down Tha Barriers (feat. Daddy Lion Chandell)
  11. Troddin' Along (feat. King Django)
  12. Feel Thru Life (feat. Paige Scott)
  13. Dub Champions "Heart of Gold (feat. Treasure Don)(Subatomic Dub)"
  14. Hydroponic Dub

"Treasure Don" is on point and the groove will keep the dancefloor sweating. Nemiss shows that she has flow with the best on cuts like "No Static" and "Doin’ It" and has lyrics to match her confidence on the mic.

Rhiannon’s vocals seduce on "Fly Free" as the dub shuffles on a funky clavinet riff. The album is well paced to keep things moving and the instrumental tracks are a nice breather without sounding like filler.
The production is fantastic and the vocals mesh so well that the songs are stronger than anticipated. No slapped on vocals and only stellar production throughout. The songs work perfectly with each vocalist and help to bring out their vocal talents rather than bury them in the mix.

I give On All Frequencies high marks and put this down as the surprise of the year so far.
