Put It On Me
Buy at: Amazon.com  GEMM

Put It On Me "Put It On Me" is the latest release by now San Diego-based funk factory Danny Massure, which builds on the success of last year’s "What It Is". For anyone unfamiliar with this man's brand of funk, acid jazz and dance, Danny Massure has a crack team of musicians around him who can cook up the sweetest of grooves, and all with no artificial preservatives – that’s samples to you and me!
Track Listing:
  1. The Five South
  2. That's The Stuff
  3. Funky Avocados
  4. Put It On Me
  5. Skanky
  6. The Five South (BadboE Remix)
  7. That's The Stuff (Jayl Funk Remix)
  8. Funky Avocados (The Breakbeat Junkie Remix)
  9. Put It On Me (Omegaman Remix)

His latest offering contains five new instrumental tracks, four of which have been remixed by the likes of the Breakbeat Junkies and Omegaman. This time 'round, Danny is flexing his jazz-funk muscles with plenty of horn stabs, sax solos and wah-wah rhythm guitars. It's a bit more sophisticated than his first CD, and there's some truly great musicianship on display – particularly the guitar and trumpet work on "That's The Stuff".

The slinky groove of "Funky Avocados" is a real highlight, and the 70s keyboard signature of "Put It On Me" is a must for jazz dance fans. The ska groove of "Skanky" is a nice diversion and it has a solid beat to boot.

The remixes are all excellent and take the tracks to the next dimension of funk. Some added vocals help give the songs a real buzz. All four remixes are perfect for club nights or a decent party.

Danny hasn't rested on his laurels since putting out "What It Is". This shows he is working hard on his sound and ready to take it to the next level.
