Not even comparing it to the smoothed out, house and dub influenced rhythms of Thomas Blondet's last single, Echo Chamber EP, this new one jumps right out in a new way. The opening track, "No Dibby Dibby Sound" is a plate full of big Latin reggae breaks that will definitely be burning up some dance floors. Indeed there is nothing dibby dibby about this one.
Track Listing:
No Dibby Dibby Sound
DubSteppa (feat. Subatomic Sound System)
On the b-side Thomas joins forces with Brooklyn's dub warriors Subatomic Sound System for a track called "DubSteppa", and the outcome provides a much needed breather after all that whatnot you just cut up and left on the dance floor. Now I know you might be thinking "dub step!?" But, no. There's a big difference between a step and a steppa, but it isn't the deep, spleen rumbling bass. A steppa isn't dark and brooding. Steppa's take it slow and easy with a grin on their face that may make you wonder what you don't know that's so damn nice to be thinking about. So steppa, be easy.
As a single, No Dibby Dibby Sound is a bit of chiles and rum. A solid combination.
