Mixing house and soul music can be a risky affair. Make music that is too soulful and the dance music DJs won’t like it, conversely make it too house orientated and soul fans won’t want to know. But like Incognito and other acts before them, Windimoto – aka DJ Sean "Disco" Haley & Scorpeze – have pulled it off and come up with music that doesn’t compromise on either the house or the soul.

This 10 track CD includes no less than three remixes of ‘Don’t Let Leave Me Alone’ and two remixes of ‘A Place For Us’ – as well as the original tracks, which are excellent house tunes. For my money, the Sevany2Rent Party remix of ‘A Place For Us’ is the best version of that particular tune on this CD, and the Sevany2 Step version of ‘Don’t Let Leave Me Alone’ kicks some serious ass. Both deliver the goods in different ways - and are essential R&B tracks. You’ve got minimal house beats, soulful vocals, bags of funk and good tunes. House never sounded so good.

In case you’re wondering, the name Windimoto reflects the two birthplaces of Sean Haley and Scorpeze. Detroit-born Scorpeze is the ‘Motor’ and Chicago DJ Sean is the ‘Windy’. This record will appeal to both soul and dance fans alike - the Windimoto boys have pulled it off.
