Henrik Schwarz's "Live" for it's lack of flaws in the mix, certainly doesn't sound live, and there is no mistaking that this is definitely a DJ set aimed at moving your feet, with strong beats flowing into each other and feeding off their shared energy. The transitions are skillfully done, especially considering their wide variety. This set is a clear demonstration of why Henrik has gained the reputation and attention he has.

Schwarz includes "Lullaby For Realville" by Sun Ra, his own remixes of "It's A Man's World" by James Brown, and "Atoms" by Dark Globe featuring Boy George. Henrik serves up a healthy dose of his own material alongside his remixes of work by the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Boundzound, Kuniyuki, Mari Boine and a few others.

The prevalent and fairly rapid beats contrast with the material, which tend towards often vocally centered downtempo. Schwarz uses rounded, liquid rhythms without jagged edges, adding a lot of space based synth. There are sixteen tracks totaling about seventy-five minutes, and there's not a single one of those minutes that drags or makes your attention wander away. So how much more "live" can you get?
