Heat Brings Heat "Heat Brings Heat" is three scoops of goodness that have been aptly described as "dubwise hip hop and sizzling dancehall reggae built to sweat it out". Despite the different titles, these tracks share a very similar musical backing...almost identical in fact. While you might think it's not worth your dime to grab all three songs, you'll be sadly left out, as the lyrical treatment applied to the lead title "Collective Sweat" gives it a remarkably different mood than "The Chronicles" which follows it. This EP really demonstrates miles of evolution in technique for Subatomic Sound System.
Track Listing:
  1. Collective Sweat (feat. Pete Miser, Jamalski & Rhiannon)
  2. The Chronicles (feat. Treasure Don)
  3. It's The Heat (dubstrumental)

"Collective Sweat" features the voices of Pete Miser, Jamalski and Rhiannon, who all coalesce the hybrid dancehall/hip hop sound into a laid back but tense Brooklyn hip hop jam that talks about life in the sweltering heat and stink of New York City in the summer.

In "The Chronicles" we have Treasure Don recounting, in his unmistakable dancehall vocal style, a variety of tales the band have encountered on their cross-country touring. This one doesn't carry any of the tension found in the opening track, which is why I'm saying...don't be left out.

The closer is a wonderfully dubbed out version all done instrumental. It's called "It's The Heat" and once again, while one track's mood is tense hip hop and another's is smooth reggae, you'll be surprised at how they can all share basically the same instrumentation but come out so different. With this one, the funk guitar really stands out and changes the sound.

If you've ever been around twins, or in this case triplets, you know that even though the looks are alike the personality of each is completely individual.
