If you shut your eyes and put on Under's debut and self-titled EP it's not very hard to turn on, tune in and drop out. The San Francisco based trio deliver an excellent interpretation of acoustic indie electronica with warm hooks, gentle harmonies and sweeping instrumentation melting together to create four solid tracks.

The exceptional and emotive vocal talent of Jen Triano shines throughout and lends a sensual warmth to the lush instrumentals of Ricky Carter on drums and Eamonn Flynn on keys. Although this is a record most likely to be filled in the "chillout" rack it transcends its assigned moniker, as every decent record should, and successfully leaves the comedown comfort zone.
Describing their sound as a cross between Zero 7 and The Sundays may be easy - lazy even, but the similarities are pretty noticeable. The innocent tone of Jen Triano's vocals resemble those of Harriet Wheeler while the beats and instrumentals are locked into the kind of nice and warm summer groove that's instantly recognizable on any Zero 7 track. Organic opium.
