For all but the most fervent Morcheeba fans the name Skye may not ring any bells. Afterall, Morcheeba was often viewed as a collective in which none of its individual members stood out from one another. The music they made left quite an impression on a large number of music lovers, and if you enjoy their music you've got a new reason to smile. "Mind How You Go" is the debut solo album from Morcheeba singer Skye and, not surprisingly, it has a very familiar sound. Sweet, memorable melodies and of course - that beautiful voice.

A vast majority of the instrumentation is produced by acoustic instruments, so don't expect layers of synthesized sequences from Skye. There is always the subtle undercurrent of synthesized noises or the phantom of how they affect a musicians approach to arrangements, and perhaps due to this, each song has a lush minimalism in its composition. Whether the consistency is taken as a strength or weakness is entirely up to your personal taste.
Throughout the eleven tracks on Mind How You Go you're going to find an uncompromisingly consistent mix of acoustic guitar, mellow breakbeats, soft melodies, and softer moods narrated by thoughtful and endearing lyrics. Most of the melodies bear an almost epic, poppy quality to them, which is nothing uncommon for Skye, as this sound was one of Morcheeba's strongest ingredients.
