On this new digital-only EP, Midival Punditz Remixed, the New Dehli duo of MIDIval PunditZ take a trip deep into Belgian styled house but round it out in the end with a pair of very nice down tempo mixes.

Remixers involved include Son Kite, Audialize, Karsh Kale, Bandish Projekt, and others. The tempos on these mixes maintain fairly high BPM's, as the clear focus here is on the dance floor. The last two tracks take aim at the wind down, starting with Karsh Kale's mix of "Dark Age" (from their self-titled album) and finishing with Gautam's downtempo mix of "136" (from the album MIDIval Times).

Karsh Kale's treatment accentuates the female vocals and drops a slow-mo hip-hop groove met by floating, distorted guitar and a deep bed of ambient synths. "Dark Age" is an excellent song in its original form, and Karsh Kale does it major justice. The mix of "136" removes its 4/4 beats and delivers an altogether tranquil groove that certainly lives up to the remixes title. Both tracks are highly recommended.
