When you listen to an album that combines a couple DJ's and two musicians making stark, early 80s electro-wave with a dapper lounge crooner (who has a wicked sense of humor about the whole thing), there are so many ways to interpret it. One question however, is inevitable: How did this happen? Well, one scenario begins with "...so these DJ's and a couple musicians walk into a bar and there's this lounge singer sitting there...". Another includes the same said DJs, musicians and lounge crooner, copious amounts of alcohol, a Karaoke machine and a couple Casio's.

The singer is Louie Austen and he's transformed his career as enigmatic nightclub crooner into (potentially) one of the most potent personalities the European electro-wave scene has ever known. Be afraid, be very afraid, but don't be dismissive.
Louie's musical co-conspirators are DJ Phonique, Jeff Melnyk, DJ Friction and Stefan Jungmair of Mum/Mummer.
The album is titled "Iguana" and the more you listen to it, the more your look of disbelief and shock will turn to one of surprise. Surprise as you realize the depth of Klein Records' diabolical genius. Iguana is a combination of early-80s synths and mid-60s-70s lounge crooning. It's like skinny ties and slim sunglasses, big hair and leisure suits all at once. It can't go wrong.
Hail the birth of Croonwave! ...enjoyed best with a great deal of alcohol, a mirror ball, many (drunk) friends, and ladies...you'll want to pack an extra pair of panties to throw on stage. Yeah, Louie's that hot. Just ask Peaches.
