SoulOrganismState Mummer can be happily described as down tempo soul jazz and blues with an unmistakably headnodding and deeply grooved Viennese style. The title of their debut album "SoulOrganismState" says a lot about their sound, which involves as many synthetic as organic elements, but this is far from the debut effort from the bands members, which includes Stefan Jungmair of former Klein act MUM, and soulful vocalist Betty Semper.
Track Listing:
  1. Willoweep
  2. I Spy
  3. Every Little Thing I Know
  4. Baby, Don't You Go
  5. Final Conclusion
  6. Inside My Shell
  7. Hey, You Did
  8. When I Go Home
  9. Love To Be
  10. Seven Doctors
  11. Walk
  12. Every Bird Is Wishing

By definition of the word "mummer" you might expect this to be an instrumental effort. Far from it. These songs offer up a nice range of vocal styles, from Betty's earthy, soulful style, to the rich tones of Berlin-based blues crooner Wayne Martin, whose voice you may recognize from his work with Boozoo Bajou among others. Another guest singer is Viennese newcomer Angela Reisinger, known also as Angel Rice whom Klein respect as "one of the best young jazz voices in the country."

The crew at Klein Records has an excellent ear for rhythm. There is a perfect balance between jazz, soul, breaks, bass groove and vocals in nearly every single and album they release, and Mummer is no exception to Klein's high standard of quality. Expect to be surprised by the skilled songwriting and wide-ranging diversity of Mummer's SoulOrganismState.
CD released on Sep 8, 2006, Cat. No.: KL080
