10th Anniversary After hearing both cds in Kyoto Jazz Massive's "10th Anniversary" release, I kept saying to myself, "I didn't know they released that?" Nu-Jazz, Jazzhouse and Jazzy-Broken Beat would be a few good tags to add to KJM's style and this album. Lots of female vocals on top of broken-house beats and stellar production values exemplify what sets KJM apart.
Track Listing:
  1. The Brightness Of These Days (Quantic remix)
  2. Incognito "Where Love Shines (Kyoto Jazz Massive remix)"
  3. Endless Flight
  4. Restless Soul "Time To Fly (feat. Rasiyah)"
  5. Mind Expansions (Blaze Shelter Sundae mix)
  6. Shine (feat. Chris Franck & Guida De Palma)(Kenny Dope remix)
  7. Domu "Taking Flight"
  8. Afronaught "Now Or Never (feat. Alison David)"
  9. Dego & Kaidi Tatham "Come With Me"
  10. Reel People "Tomorrow Never Comes (feat. Vanessa Freeman)"
  11. Da Lata "Ronco Da Cuica"
  12. Jazztronik "Shine"
  13. Louie Vega & The EOL Band "Aphrodite"
  14. Monday Michiru "A Calmaria (Sailing Into The Unknown version)"
  15. DJ Mitsu The Beats "Spireedom 2004"
  16. Sleep Walker "Eclipse"
  17. Toshio Matsuura Group "Behind The Shadow"
  18. Electric Sheep "The Brightness Of These Days (feat. UA)"
  19. Aurora "Nacel Do Sol"

Included are remixes by Quantic which floats "The Brightness Of These Days" along until the 4 minute mark and then bumps it up into a Latin-beat groovefest. Kenny Dope reworks "Shine" and Blaze works over "Mind Expansion" as you get back-to-back jazz-house. Da Lata's "Ronco Da Cuica" is brilliant! Jazztronik, Louie Vega, Domu, etc... all provide consistently excellent tracks and you can thank Kyoto Jazz Massive for having great taste and the confidence to release and promote the jazz aspect of modern electronic music while others have come and gone.

This release is right on the money for fans of Compost, Naked Music, Acid Jazz and anything broken.
