No One Else
Buy at: iTunes  eMusic  GEMM

No One Else The strength of Natalie Walker's music doesn't rest in head-nodding beats but rather, strong lyrical and song writing that exhibit a rare level of honest and open emotion. As a pianist and singer the structure of her songs is often simple, delicate really, as with "No One Else", released as the first single from her debut solo album "Urban Angel". For those of you seeking a beat however, this single may give you what you need with mixes from glitch to house from The Amalgamation of Soundz, 10 SUi vs. !mposter and The Vector Warrior.
Track Listing:
  1. No One Else (radio edit)
  2. No One Else (The Vector Warrior remix)
  3. No One Else (The Amalgamation Of Soundz remix)
  4. No One Else (10 SUi Vs. !mposter deeper dub remix)
  5. Circles

The Vector Warrior lay down a nice mellow glitch rendition of No One Else that lands somewhere between Plaid and Delerium. The Amalgamation of Soundz deliver a much more up-tempo house version that remains soothing on account of Natalie's breathy vocals and is sure to make itself well known on house dance floors. 10SUi vs. !mposter call theirs the "deeper dub remix" but in fact it's more of a deeper dub house remix and out of each version presented, this one goes lightest on the use of Natalie Walker's voice.

The single ends with "Circles", a somber waltz-inspired and country influenced song that received love from Gilles Peterson among others. The dark lyrics and melancholy mood of this track remind me of Natalie's previous work with Daughter Darling, but breaks the shadowy cast with an ethereally uplifting and very Sarah McLachlan-esque chorus.
