Smile Hunter

Smile Hunter When you sit back after hitting the play button, one never can expect what is going to come out of the speakers. You can only know that it will be trippy, dubbed out and quite an aural ride. Carrying dub into territory usually set aside for The Orb, Once 11 makes future music that feels new while Ignacio Platas took several years off to build modern bamboo structures in Costa Rica.
Track Listing:
  1. Trinidad and Tobacco
  2. Verifying People
  3. When the Dance Is the Game, The Food Crisis Came
  4. Blind Mice
  5. Reference Guide to All the Available Light
  6. Nothing Bothering Me
  7. Scream and Whisper
  8. A Long Beard on a Throne
  9. Before the Operation
  10. Bottled Paycheck
  11. Stay Funny

The time off only helped him craft a diverse and reverb heavy release. Tracks like Blind Mice with its slow jazz bass and swirling vocals melody along with A Long Beard On A Throne which works out the low end. Reference Guide To All The Available Flight swings along with a dark menacing bassline and relaxed keys.

Overall Smile Hunter relates well to the title as Once 11 keeps a certain playfullness to the tracks with bouncing melodies and sweeping electronics. Make sure you pay attention to Bottled Paycheck with its rolling bass and swirling reverb! Fans of The Agriculture will not be disappointed and new fans should take their time with these tracks as Once 11 takes his time to build these world-encompassing grooves.
