Push Your Love On Me/Cookin
Buy at: GEMM

Push Your Love On Me/Cookin On his latest single, Swedish-born André Orefjärd combines nu jazz style (a staple of the Scandinavian music scene) with funk, jazz and soul influences. He has a warm, Blue Note way to his jazz horns, which put a nice glow around the energetic nu jazz beats and Moog synths.
Track Listing:
  1. Push Your Love On Me (feat. Emma Åström)
  2. A Midnight Symphony
  3. Cookin (feat. May Yamani)
  4. Cookin (instrumental)

"Push Your Love On Me" leads the way as a dancefloor jazz cut with a relaxed attitude, sweetened by the plush, seductive vocal stylings of Emma Åström. It's followed by the slowly cascading, jazzy instrumental vibes of "A Midnight Symphony".

On the B-side, May Yamani offers her soulful vocal seduction to the bubbling jazz beats of "Cookin". This track's got a strong, positive vibe and nice deep bass that blends perfectly with the subtle Moog keys. For those who don't do vocals, you'll find an intrumental version of this cut as well.

Compared to his debut work, an EP entitled "Back On Track" that rocks hip-hop raps and some deep vocal soul, this single has no rap and the soul is far more subdued. André's jazz and nu jazz sounds have matured and perfectly played in tune with some very sweet vocal work.

It's always nice to hear music so perfectly suited to fill the floor, do it without the straight-ahead 4/4 beats of house. Nice dancefloor jazz.
