On "International Standards EP 1", Trio Exklusiv start off with a sound that crosses deep house and down tempo beats with punk-funk electro synth, soul vocals, robotic vocoded vox and jazz horns, but they finish out the b-side with some deep, dubby goodness... and along the way they get three mixes of help from London's Idjut Boys.

The vintage analog and plush digital synths of "Doors Open", mixed with the soul vocals (via New York disco-not-disco singer G. Rizo) in "Time To Feel" give Trio Exklusiv a strong 80s vibe, although the production, jazz horns, modern dancefloor arrangement and unmistakably Austrian-styled, soul-jazz influenced, bass and beats give the Trio away as something produced well after the age of big hair and skinny ties.
The B-side finds Idjut Boys working out their instrumental "Time To Feel (main mix)" with a little tabla percussion beneath nice down tempo beats, funky guitar licks, big, but subtle Latin jazz horns, and some analog synth bass and sweeps. If your flavor is dub, then "Slo-mo-dub" is gonna move you right with deep, dubby bass, mellow beats, and a constant cycle of echoed instruments and voice (a la Terry Callier).
It's funk, soul, disco, dub, jazz, house and wave all-in-one.
