Three Days Hardkandy come through with another strong single "Three Days", the second lifted off their forthcoming full-length "Last To Leave". Thick with funky bass lines and guitar (courtesy of Will Holland), rich horns, mellow breaks and the deeply soulful vocal stylings of John Hughes (The Lodge), "Three Days" delivers a quality of down tempo jazz funk that seems to come straight out of the genres late-60s to early-70s golden era, but keeps a modern edge.
Track Listing:
  1. Three Days (original)
  2. Three Days (Elmore Judd & Louis Slippers remix)
  3. Jack Of Clubs (feat. Sean Clarke)
  4. Three Days (original instrumental)
  5. Three Days (Elmore Judd & Louis Slippers remix instrumental)

If you're looking for an exceptional laid-back, soulful, R&B hip-hop joint look no further than the Elmore Judd (Above The Cloud Recordings) & Louis Slippers remix. Nice.

Exclusive to the CD single release is "Jack of Clubs", a sweeping, soulful jazz piece featuring the vocals of Brighton local and rising star Sean Clarke.

As with "State Of You", telling stories seems to be as important to Hardkandy as songwriting and it's something that a great deal of "electronic" music misses the mark on. A good lyrical story offers a tangible something that takes a song from being a nice melody, and makes it a part of your life. Focusing on strong lyrical content can bring a song dangerously close to becoming pop mush, but thankfully, Hardkandy go nowhere near pop territory here. "Three Days" is "a typical Brighton tale of only having a weekend to get to know someone - and trying to sum yourself up in a short space of time - obviously in a good way! Predatory yet honest. It is a reaction to our time conscious lives, resting on a solid beat and a funky ass bassline."

If you're adverse to lyrical tracks, you'll be happy to find this single, released on limited 7" vinyl and CD, comes with instrumental versions of both the original and the Elmore Judd & Louis Slippers mix.

"Three Days" has already been picked up by Gilles Peterson (Radio1), Nick Luscombe (XFM), Benji (1Xtra), Radio 2 and a slew of specialist radio shows. Don't sleep on it.
