In a word, classic. Three of the tracks on Gateaux Youth were released on limited, 10" vinyl prior to the 2003 release of this album, including "Shake It Loose", "On The Ceiling" and "Handsome As Ever" and it's clear why those singles quickly became sought after by collectors and afficionados of downtempo music. There's a quality to Dolphin Boy's work that you just don't come across very often.

In terms of mood, Gateaux Youth is one of longing.
