Against Nature is Tim "Love" Lee's first album in quite a while. If you're not familiar with Mr. Lee, he's the founder of Tummy Touch records and an internationally renowned DJ. Don't expect to hear beats on Against Nature however, it's 10 tracks of lush, experimental, electronic tonescapes produced completely using vintage synths.
Track Listing:
Crickets Sing at The Chateau de Lourps
Spoonfuls of Physic - I Rejoice Beyond the Bounds of Time
- The World May Shudder at my Joy
The Tortoise - Miss Urania
Super-Terrestrial Subtleties
The Mouth Organ - Amid the Universal Dissolution
- Ancient Hope
Stated to be work commissioned by The Brooklyn Experimental Movement Ensemble featuring members of The New York Aquarian Men's Drum Workshop led by "Coach" M.P. Messenie, many believe that the membership of these organizations consists solely of Mr. Lee and his synthesizers.
These songs can only be at their prime as a backdrop to an avant garde dance troupes performance, or soundtracking a post-post-modern art exhibition. Get your hands on Against Nature if: while you screen the album you can surround yourself (either real or just in your imagination) with ultra-clean architecture, a high-tech light show, and lithe dancers playing out a statement whose depth of meaning is bound to be lost on you no matter how hard you try to understand it.
