Nordic Lounge Vol. 3 - A Mix Of The Finest Scandinavian Contemporary Music Comments (1) ... This time around, the Dealers (Jakob Lusensky & Andreas Agdestein) take their Nordic Lounge compilation series into slightly new territory, with the whole thing blended into an 11-track, 1-hour long mixed set designed to take the listener from a smooth state of bliss and energize them for a night of dancing. Offering exclusive tracks from Plej (darlings of the Scandinavian scene), Cloud (younger brother of Hird, featuring the new and talented vocalist Yoanna) and Slug along with essential joints from Dalminjo (feat. Hilde Drange), The Five Corners Quintet, Hird (with singer Yukimi Nagano), and well known Japanese producer Susumu Yokota among others.
Track Listing:
  1. Cloud "Winternights (feat. Yoanna)"
  2. Plej "And So Lay The Land"
  3. Plej "Evum (Cloud remake)"
  4. Dalminjo "Love Affair (feat. Hilde Drange)"
  5. Context "Don't Need A Band"
  6. The Five Corners Quintet "The Devil Kicks (Sumo-On-Wheels remix)"
  7. Hird "I Love You My Hope"
  8. Slug "Alonely"
  9. Plej "Safe Place"
  10. Susumu Yokota "King Of Darkness (Swell Session remix)"
  11. Albanek "Walk Away (Swell Session's boogie voyage remix)"

The goal behind the Nordic Lounge series is to provide a true reflection of the musical climate of Scandinavia, in effect bottling it for your enjoyment with each new volume.

"In the last two years the jazz and the club scene have slowly started to collaborate more and more. The club people want the organic jazz sound of "real instruments" and the jazz cats want to get the energy and rhythm from the club sound. Also a lot of producers work more with vocalist nowadays, making music more connected to pop than club music," explains Jakob Lusensky, one of the compilers of the CD.

Nordic Lounge Vol. 3 is all about smooth, laid-back, housey beats, feminine styles, Latin vibes and mid-to-uptempo, jazzy dancefloor joints.

The process of creating this compilation was a unique experience, and different from that of previous projects. "On this one we wanted the cd to build from a more quiet mood, and then ending up with people turning up the volume and wanting to go dancing" the other Dealer from DNM, Andreas Agdestein, explains.

By far the most upbeat volume in the series, we are once again treated to a sweet slice of Scandinavian nu jazz culture.
CD released on Dec 10, 2004, Cat. No.: DNMCD007
