In certain ways this series is an interesting experiment. In the course of a year, we are able to hear more prominent male vocals (at times brushing too close against an "easy listening r&b" vibe) that were not at all prevalent in last years edition of Nordic Lounge (yet the ladies still bring it home), while once dominant Latin percussion has given way to a mid-century jazz-funk sound. On the dansfloor side, the beats are as housey as always, and the electronics remain crisp and jazzy.

If you were lucky, you caught one of the Nordic Lounge club nights (Japan, Scandinavia) featuring Hird and the DNM crew, that in support of the release of Nordic Lounge Vol. 2, featured live sessions with Hird and Yukimi Nagano.

Once again DNM come through with an excellent collection... grab your nu jazz, jazzy, deep house, lounge bag and fill it with a giddy grin.
