Comments (1) ... Compared to Aldo Vanucci's previous single (an incredibly dope cover of an old 80s rock hit) called "When I See You Smile", his latest entitled "Dear Diary" is original, cleaner and more influenced by hip-hop than soul. "Dear Diary" swaggers on slow, strong beats like a hot, bluesy, New Orleans night and is guaranteed to echo around in your head for days.

Dear Diary (Infinite Potential remix feat. Amber MC)
I Gotta Fever
It's On (Deckwrecka Payback mix feat. Blade)
Infinite Potential mashes up their version of "Dear Diary" featuring Amber MC with a strong hip-hop edge and assertive breaks. Maintaining many of the original versions intrumentation and hooks, but adding several verses of their own lyrics, and a fistful of scratches, this version introduces the Catskills sound you may know from artists like Kidda. Very well done and like the original, is guaranteed to stay fresh in your head for days.
Cue up the B-side and suddenly... Christopher Walken (sampled from an appearance he made in a Saturday Night Live skit) MC's in a Matthew Sweet-styled cornucopia of squelchy, rock guitar riffs (?) called "I Gotta Fever". Catskills:Projects calls this one a future classic, but you're going to have to make your own call here. I can't help you.
Next up is a remix of the album cut "It's On". This one brings back the hip-hop style with Ronin's Deckwrecka Payback mix featuring Blade. Nice hip-hop breaks, piano, and lush strings are layered under gritty urban lyrics and served up in an angry, moody style. Even if you try to fight it... ya head's gonna nod with the rhythm.
Once again Catskills:Projects delivers! Pick this up and get ready for a monster full-length for sure.
